The Qube Foundation desires to target a small portion of its resources directly to scholarships that offer underprivileged students assistance to attend Canadian Qualified Post Secondary Institutions and train in areas of Social Change.
We aim to offer scholarships between $1,000-5,000, but not to exceed 50% of the cost of the applicant's program (tuition, books and basic living costs).
We define “underprivileged” primarily on household income as verified by the last tax return(s) filed (line 150) and the balance of any RESP programs as of the date of application. As we believe the greatest opportunities for economic progress lies in education, we will also base the decision heavily on the qualitative assessment of the candidate. Scholarships can only be offered in arm’s length situations to the foundation, its volunteers and trustees.
If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, our trustees meet 2-4 times per annum. An applicant will have to receive majority approval of the trustees to be successful and funds need to be available. Please note that we reserve the right to publish details on all awarded scholarship and other charitable distributions in a highly transparent manner.
Please include in your SUBMISSION to us:
Your name and contact information.
A statement on what you plan to study and why.
Estimated costs and length of your program.
Ability to confirm your total household income on Line 150 of your two most recent tax returns and RESP balances (if any) that you are a beneficiary of. Or equivalent proof of need.
